エッチングの技法を用いたペンダント。金属の腐食により生まれる味のある線は、小さな陰影を作り、モチーフに息を吹き込みます。
それぞれのモチーフが主役となり、物語がはじまります。

「オリーブをくわえる鳩」
あまりにも有名な、平和と希望の象徴です。
旧約聖書『創世記』に登場するノアの方舟の物語では、大洪水の後にノアが放った鳩が水の引いた大地からオリーブの枝をくわえて戻ります。
それは破壊ののちに訪れる「再生」と「希望」のしるしとされています。
聖書に由来することで知られているお話ですが、「大洪水の破壊から再生へ」という物語は、元はもっと古く紀元前3千年紀のメソポタミアなど、洪水の多い地域に伝わる神話にも共通する要素があるそうです。
デザインは、少し原始的な姿の鳩が、枝を咥えてトコトコ歩いているような様子をエッチングで表現しました。そして裏面には、両手で小さなハートを表したモチーフを。
ちなみに、オリーブは地中海の植物なので、もしこのお話が日本だったら「雉鳩が稲穂や若竹をくわえている」ーーそんな姿になっていたのかもしれませんね。
コインの周りをパールや天然石が囲む技法は、ロシア正教のイコンからインスピレーションを得て制作しています。

オプションで金メッキ・ロジウムメッキ加工もお選び頂けます。（メッキ加工のものは燻仕上げではございません。）

“The Dove with the Olive Branch”
It is a timeless and universally recognized symbol of peace and hope.
In the story of Noah’s Ark from the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament,
after the great flood, Noah releases a dove, which returns carrying an olive branch
from the newly dried land.
This has come to symbolize renewal and hope following destruction.
Although this story is best known as a biblical tale, the theme of rebirth after a great flood
also appears in ancient myths from flood-prone regions such as Mesopotamia
in the third millennium BCE.
The design is expressed through etching, depicting a slightly primitive-looking dove trotting along with a branch in its beak.
On the reverse side is a gentle motif of two hands forming a small heart .
Incidentally, since the olive tree is native to the Mediterranean region,
if this story had originated in Japan, perhaps the dove would have returned carrying an ear of rice or a sprig of young bamboo instead.
The technique of surrounding the coin with pearls or natural stones is inspired by the icons
of the Russian Orthodox tradition.
As the pearls are natural materials, their shapes may vary slightly depending on the time of
arrival.
